Week of Nov. 18 Cable Information Scores: Publish-Election Information Fatigue Continues

All three cable information networks continued to see week-to-week declines in each complete viewers and the Adults 25-54 demo within the interval following the 2024 presidential election.

Nonetheless, Fox Information remained the most-watched of the three main cable information networks, stomping over its rivals because it continued to command a 72% share of the primetime viewers and 67% of the entire day share.

MSNBC and CNN acquired under 20% of the share throughout each dayparts, a pattern that has remained fixed since Election Night time.

NETWORKS:

Nielsen stay plus same-day information for the week of Nov. 18 noticed FNC common 2.692 million complete viewers and 323,000 A25-54 viewers throughout primetime. The community was down a respective -9% and -10% in each measured classes relative to the week prior.

Throughout complete day, Fox Information averaged 1.699 million complete viewers and 206,000 A25-54 viewers for week-to-week declines of -9% and -13%, respectively.

Amongst all primary cable networks, Fox Information was the No. 1 cable community in complete primetime viewers, and completed second within the primetime demo. In complete day, it led in complete viewers and stayed at No. 2 place within the demo.

MSNBC’s primetime lineup averaged 658,000 complete viewers and 60,000 A25-54 viewers for respective declines of -4% and -8% in comparison with the week prior. 

Throughout complete day, MSNBC averaged 484,000 complete viewers and 42,000 A25-54 viewers for week-to-week declines of -1% and -7%, respectively.

MSNBC’s numbers appeared to stabilize in comparison with the earlier week because it solely skilled low single-digit drops in each measured classes. Outdoors of the primetime lineup, Morning Joe noticed a drop in viewers after co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski disclosed their assembly with President-elect Donald Trump. The morning program noticed its worst non-holiday week since 2015.

Amongst all primary cable networks, MSNBC stayed in fifth place in primetime complete viewers and dropped from twenty eighth to twenty ninth within the demo. Throughout complete day, it remained the No. 4 community in complete viewers and fell from No. 21 to No. 23 within the demo. 

CNN averaged 415,000 complete viewers and 79,000 A25-54 viewers within the demo throughout primetime for declines of -11% and -10%, respectively.

In complete day, the community noticed 335,000 complete viewers and 53,000 viewers within the demo for week-to-week dips of -1% within the former class and -9% within the latter. CNN continued to complete forward of MSNBC within the demo throughout each primetime and complete day.

On the fundamental cable charts, CNN ranked at No. 16 amongst complete viewers in primetime, and No. 22 within the primetime demo. Throughout complete day, CNN ranked at No. 5 with complete viewers and slide to the No. 16 spot within the demo, tied with Freeform.
