Tokyo-based Kino Movies has struck a take care of Lionsgate and GK Movies to distribute Michael Jackson biopic, Michael, in Japan. Lionsgate is releasing domestically, with Common set to deal with worldwide markets, save Japan the place Kino Movies expects to launch in 2025. The North American launch is slated for April 18, 2025. The announcement of the Japan deal was made by Helen Lee-Kim, President, Worldwide, Lionsgate Movement Image Group, and Naoya Kinoshita, CEO of Kino Movies and Kinoshita Group.
Directed by Antoine Fuqua, the movie is at present in post-production. Jackson’s nephew Jaafar Jackson leads the ensemble as Michael, with Colman Domingo, Nia Lengthy, Miles Teller, Laura Harrier and Juliano Krue Valdi amongst others in key roles.

In an announcement supplied to Deadline, Fuqua stated, “I can not wait to share this movie with the individuals of Japan. Their love for Michael’s music and his message is infectious. The crew at Kino Movies is really embracing the movie we’re making and it’s thrilling to be working with them.”
Added producer Graham King, ”I’m thrilled to have such nice companions in Kino Movies.
