Hoax name menace: Over 20 flights obtain bomb threats at the moment; IndiGo, Vistara, Akasa Air obtain most calls


The menace of hoax calls to airways continued on October 20 with greater than 20 flights of IndiGo, Akasa Air and Vistara flights receiving recent bomb threats. IndiGo launched a collection of press assertion sharing particulars of the bomb menace obtained by the flights.

Vistara stated it received safety threats for six flights — UK25 (Delhi to Frankfurt), UK106 (Singapore to Mumbai), UK146 (Bali to Delhi), UK116 (Singapore to Delhi), UK110 (Singapore to Pune) and UK107 (Mumbai to Singapore). 

“In step with the protocols, all related authorities had been instantly notified, and safety procedures, as directed by them, are being carried out,” a Vistara spokesperson stated in an announcement. 

An Akasa Air spokesperson stated a few of its flights obtained safety alerts on Sunday. 

Emergency response groups are monitoring the scenario and are in contact with the safety and regulatory authorities, the spokesperson stated in an announcement. 

“We’re following all security and safety procedures in coordination with native authorities,” the spokesperson added. 

There have been threats for a minimum of six Air India flights, there was no instant remark from the airline. 

Up to now this week, greater than 90 flights have obtained bomb threats and most of them have turned out to be hoaxes. 

The most recent collection of hoax calls comes a day after the Bureau of Civil Aviation Safety (BCAS) met with airline CEOs on October 19 after a number of flights obtained a minimum of 70 hoax bomb threats previously week.
