Fayetteville, Arkansas expands rising bike scene with new bikepacking route community


For these outdoors of the biking world, Fayetteville, Arkansas, could also be a mere blip on the map of the U.S. Midwest area. The host of the 2022 UCI Cyclocross World Championships is residence to some 100,000 residents and a burgeoning biking group. It is also the neighbouring city of Bentonville, the self-proclaimed mountain bike capital of the world and host locale for the favored gravel race Huge Sugar.

Now, Fayetteville seeks to increase its biking notoriety by opening 5 new bikepacking routes in partnership with Bikepacking Roots that wind by means of the area’s rural communities and landscapes, together with the Springfield Plateau, the Ozark’s Boston Mountains and the Buffalo River Valley.
